Nettie's Trip South--KWL
K= Slavery is forcefully making people work for you without pay. This happened all over the world in the past and still happens in some places today. In the U.S. we learn about our nation's history of enslaving African Americans primarily for agriculture work. They mainly left from the west cost of Africa many died in the journey.
W=I want to learn more about how slaves were traded. Why someone could think that it was ok to treat slaves as animals (or worse than animals)? Why did the slaves have to jump?
